The Journey of Discovery: The Program

THE JOURNEY
This is a simple program to participate on. You will begin your Journey of Discovery as you read the Book of Mormon and seek for the answers to the questions, “Who am I? What are my responsibilities in the house of Israel? How do I fulfill my responsibilities?”
You are encouraged to record your answers either in the back of the Book or Mormon on the blank pages or in a study journal as you read. As you do so you will have a journey of discovery about who you are.
HOW LONG DO I HAVE?
It doesn’t matter how long this study takes. Take one month, take ten years, and discover who you are. When you finish studying those questions in the Book of Mormon, study them in the Doctrine and Covenants, the Pearl of Great Price, and the Old Testament.
THE BLESSINGS:
The Lord knows who you are. He knows what your responsibilities are and how you can fulfill them. Power and strength will come to you as you understand who you are in the Lord’s kingdom.
MY SCHEDULE:
You become a strengthening power and force within your family. That influence and power will only come as you prioritize correctly. To have spiritual power you must have the power of the scriptures effective in your life. “Time for scripture study requires a schedule that will be honored. Otherwise, blessings that matter most will be at the mercy of things that matter least.” (Russell M Nelson)
FURTHER HELPS:
We as a Relief Society plan to run classes throughout the year that focus on scripture study techniques. These classes may include scriptures marking techniques for adults and children, scriptural symbolism, family scriptures study, applying the scriptures to daily life, receiving the spirit, the need for prayer during scriptures study, modern day revelation, how to bring power to your personal and family study. These are a few ideas. If you have any further suggestions and ideas, please let us know. Each class will include a discussion or presentation. We would encourage you to share some of you insights that you have found in your Journey if you are comfortable doing so.
YOUR BOOKMARK:
Your bookmark has a map of Alberta in its background. This is a map we are all familiar with much like we are all familiar with the Book of Mormon. However, we must continue to study and read our maps to go to places and learn things we have never before seen or done.
There is a picture of the Savior on your bookmark. Always remember that he is the Maker of the Map

Your car, which represents your motivation to complete the Journey, is red. This color will help you remember that reading your map is something of high priority.
