Trust As Christ

TRUST AS CHRIST
Where did the Savior receive His strength when he had to do hard things? How did He find the time to do them? How can I receive the strength I need to build the kingdom of the Lord and overcome hard things? Am I too busy, hurried or involved to focus on what is most important?
2 Timothy 1:7
We should not fear, or worry, but trust that all will work out for good.
Psalms 62:8
Trust God at all times and he will be a refuge for you.
Psalms 125:1
Trusting in God gives us a steadfast and immoveable righteous character.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in God and He will direct you
James 1:3-4
Trust that trials will bring blessings. Be patient in trials.
Alma 36:3
Trust in god and you will be supported in your trials and lifted up at the last day.
Alma 61:13
If we put our trust in God, He will deliver us from our enemies.
1 Peter 1:7
The trial of our faith is much more precious than wealth and riches and will be a great blessing to us in the end.
2 Nephi 4:34
Trust in God, not in man.
D&C 19:29-30
We need to trust God, be humble, and share the glad tidings of the gospel.

TRUST IN THE LORD
“This life is an experience in profound trust—trust in Jesus Christ, trust in His teachings, trust in our capacity as led by the Holy Spirit to obey those teachings for happiness now and for a purposeful, supremely happy eternal existence. To trust means to obey willingly without knowing the end from the beginning[1]. To produce fruit, your trust in the Lord must be more powerful and enduring than your confidence in your own personal feelings and experience.”[2]
“To be in the hands of God would suggest that we are not only under His watchful care but also that we are guarded and protected by His wondrous power… We must trust in the Lord. If we give ourselves freely to Him, our burdens will be lifted and our hearts will be consoled… Trust in His promise of eternal life, and allow peace and hope to distill upon you.”[3]
“Trust in God … no matter how challenging the circumstance. … Your peace of mind, your assurance of answers to vexing problems, your ultimate joy depend upon your trust in Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ”[4]
“‘Trust Jesus.’ Let him still the tempest and ride upon the storm. Believe that he can lift mankind from its bed of affliction, in time and in eternity.”[5]
“An actual knowledge to any person, that the course of life which he pursues is according to the will of God, is essentially necessary to enable him to have that confidence in God without which no person can obtain eternal life”[6]
TRUST IN TIMES OF ADVERSITY
“To exercise faith is to trust that the Lord knows what He is doing with you and that He can accomplish it for your eternal good even though you cannot understand how He can possibly do it. We are like infants in our understanding of eternal matters and their impact on us here in mortality. Yet at times we act as if we knew it all. When you pass through trials for His purposes, as you trust Him, exercise faith in Him, He will help you. That support will generally come step by step, a portion at a time. While you are passing through each phase, the pain and difficulty that come from being enlarged will continue. If all matters were immediately resolved at your first petition, you could not grow. Your Father in Heaven and His Beloved Son love you perfectly. They would not require you to experience a moment more of difficulty than is absolutely needed for your personal benefit or for that of those you love”[7]
“It is a great blessing, … to have an inner peace, to have an assurance, to have a spirit of serenity, an inward calm during times of strife and struggle, during times of sorrow and reverses. It is soul-satisfying to know that God is at the helm, that he is mindful of his children, and that we can with full confidence place our trust in him. I believe that all the truly great men of the earth have been men who trusted in God and who have striven to do that which is right as they understood the right.”[8]
“We need to allow the Lord to help us. We must trust in him and do his will. After we have done his will, we will find true joy and happiness. We will know that what we have done is right.”[9]
“It is so satisfying to know that God is mindful of us and ready to respond when we place our trust in Him. There is no place for fear among men and women who place their trust in the Almighty, who do not hesitate to humble themselves in seeking divine guidance through prayer. Though difficulties may arise and reverses may come, in our prayers we can find reassurance as the Lord speaks peace to our souls.”[10]
“A pattern in the scriptures and in life shows that many times the darkest, most dangerous tests immediately precede remarkable events and tremendous growth. “After much tribulation come the blessings.”… Our Heavenly Father loves us, and we “know that whosoever shall put their trust in God shall be supported in their trials, and their troubles, and their afflictions, and shall be lifted up at the last day.”[11]
ACTING ON YOUR TRUST IN GOD
“You show your trust in Him when you listen with the intent to learn and repent and then you go and do whatever He asks. If you trust God enough to listen for His message in every sermon, song, and prayer in this conference, you will find it. And if you then go and do what He would have you do, your power to trust Him will grow, and in time you will be overwhelmed with gratitude to find that He has come to trust you.”[12]
“The Lord does not always give reasons for each commandment. Sometimes faithful members, like Adam of old, are called upon to obey an injunction of the Lord even though they do not know the reason why it was given. Those who trust in God will obey him, knowing full well that time will provide the reasons and vindicate their obedience.”[13]
“If we would vitalize our trust in God, we… must get down on our knees and pray to him …, with all the energy of our souls. And we must do so …, evening, morning, and at noon. We cannot leave it for the other fellow; we must do it ourselves, and we must do it now. If we will begin and close each day by praying unto our Father in heaven in secret, as the Savior admonished[14], thanking him for our lives, his protection over us and our loved ones, our material comforts, the freedom we enjoy in this glorious land; if we will plead with him to guide us in the paths of righteousness that we may merit a continuation of his mercies; if the head of every household will daily call his family about him and, praying with them and they praying with him, truly worship the Lord, the first long and sure step will be taken toward vitalizing our trust in God.”[15]
“To hope and trust in the Lord requires faith, patience, humility, meekness, long-suffering, keeping the commandments, and enduring to the end.”[16]
“To turn to the Lord and to trust him through revelation will help any individual, at any time, in any part of the world, understand and interpret correctly and righteously life’s experiences from the only true perspective, which is the Lord’s perspective revealed to man. To turn to the Lord and to trust his revelations is to live in such a way as to resist the floods and the winds of doubt and uncertainty.”[17]
“When one follows the course marked by the road signs of the gospel of Jesus Christ and places his trust in the Lord, its influence is such that it is manifest not only in action and deed but by a marked and visible change in his very being. There is a special light and a spirit which radiates from his eternal soul. It can be described in words like brightness, light, joy, happiness, peace, purity, contentment, spirit, enthusiasm, etc.”[18]
“If you put your trust in the Almighty and follow the teachings of this Church and cling to it notwithstanding your wounds, you will be preserved and blessed and magnified and made happy.”[19]
TRUST IN THE LORD IS FAITH
“Motivating faith is centered in trust in the Lord and in His willingness to answer your needs.”[20]
“True faith is faith in the Lord Jesus Christ—confidence and trust in Jesus Christ that leads a person to follow Him.”[21]
“Our eternal destiny is always in His hands. It is a glorious thing to believe in Him and accept Him as our Savior, our Lord, and our Master.”[22]
“Faith in the Lord is trust in the Lord. We cannot have true faith in the Lord without also having complete trust in the Lord’s will and in the Lord’s timing. As a result, no matter how strong our faith is, it cannot produce a result contrary to the will of Him in whom we have faith. Remember that when your prayers do not seem to be answered in the way or at the time you desire. The exercise of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is always subject to the order of heaven, to the goodness and will and wisdom and timing of the Lord. When we have that kind of faith and trust in the Lord, we have true security and serenity in our lives.”[23]
“When you trust in the Lord, when you are willing to let your heart and your mind be centered in His will, when you ask to be led by the Spirit to do His will, you are assured of the greatest happiness along the way and the most fulfilling attainment from this mortal experience.”[24]
“We can trust the Lord to completely perform His role as we continue to strive to become more like Him.”[25]
“Your joy in life depends upon your trust in Heavenly Father and His holy Son, your conviction that their plan of happiness truly can bring you joy. Pondering their doctrine will let you enjoy the beauties of this earth and enrich your relationships with others. It will lead you to the comforting, strengthening experiences that flow from prayer to Father in Heaven and the answers He gives in return.”[26]
IN HIS HANDS
“While most of our suffering is self-inflicted, some is caused by or permitted by God. This sobering reality calls for deep submissiveness, especially when God does not remove the cup from us. … For the faithful, what finally emerges is an understanding of “things as they really are”[27], such as the reassuring realization that we are in the Lord’s hands! But, … we were never really anywhere else!”
“Know ye not that ye are in the hands of God?”[28] Likewise, “all flesh”[29] and “the heavens and the earth”[30]! Perhaps the realization of being in God’s hands comes fully only as we ponder the significance of the prints in the hands of our submissive Savior.[31] Some will have to ask what those wounds are, having been estranged.[32] These are they who “regard not the work of the Lord, neither consider the operation of his hands.”[33]
The more we study, pray, and ponder the awesome Atonement, the more we are willing to acknowledge that we are in His and the Father’s hands. Let us ponder, therefore, these final things.[34]
GOD’S TRUST IN US
“Being completely trusted by God is a great honor… Trust and approval come by obedience to all of God’s commandments. Helaman[35] highlight(s) how important it is to heed the promptings of the Spirit. Only by doing so can we be sure we are living according to God’s will. [He] also highlight(s) how important it is to want what God wants… As we prove faithful in the small things, the Lord will trust us with the greater things.”[36]
